Abstract

Objectives: The research aims to study the Arab national security from 1990-2022, that is, the era of what has been known in academic circles as the period of post political Islam  which started in the nineties of the last century when some Islamic organizations in the Arab world begun to recede. Others have started to "accept" democracy, political pluralism, participation in governing, respect for public and individual freedoms, and the separation of religion and politics.

Methods: The study relied on the use of the inductive and analytical approach, to study how Islamic organizations in the Arab world respond to principles outside their traditional ideologies and the impact of this on Arab national security.

Results: In its attempt to answer the question about the security future of the Arab region in light of the decline in political Islam organizations, the study found that despite the changes that have occurred in political Islam organizations in the Arab region, the Islamic reference remains the dominant framework for many social and political movements, and the reason for this is due to the cultural influence of Islam in Arab societies.

Conclusions: The study concluded that for the Arab region to regain its national security after decades of conflict, Islamic political organizations must adopt democratic values, including accepting political pluralism, respecting individual and public freedoms, and separating religious discourse from politics.
