Objectives: The study aimed to highlight the importance of intelligence information in conducting military wars and to reveal the role of intelligence in the Russian Ukrainian war. This was achieved by examining the roles of intelligence from Russia, Ukraine, European countries, and the United States in the conflict.
Methods: The study followed a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze the body of work consisting of news and analytical articles published on websites focused on intelligence in the Russian Ukrainian war.
Results: The study found that intelligence information plays a crucial role in the Russian Ukrainian war. Ukraine has been able to detect and neutralize Russian military movements by relying on intelligence from European and American agencies, allowing it to stay a few steps ahead of Russia. The study also pointed out that the European and American sides have united to draw Russia into a war of attrition on Ukrainian soil, while taking care not to appear as intelligence supporters of Ukraine to avoid Russian retaliation.
Conclusions: The study revealed that intelligence information is of critical importance in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, with Ukraine utilizing European and American services to neutralize Russian military actions. It also exposed the unification of European and American efforts to force Russia into a war of attrition on Ukrainian territory while avoiding the appearance of supporting Ukraine. The study recommended diplomatic solutions between Russia and Ukraine that meet the satisfactory conditions of both parties and contribute to avoiding further material and human losses for Ukraine and protecting Russia from a prolonged war of attrition.
