The Role of Public Relations in Crisis Management and its Impact on the Iraqi Public The Economic Crisis as a Model - a Field Study

Objectives: This research paper aims to identify the role of public relations at a number of Iraqi institutions in connection with the financial crisis in Iraq, as well as to determine the most prominent decisions of the Iraqi cabinet in this regard and examine the role of the Central Bank of Iraq in restricting the rise in the dollar exchange rate and containing the financial crisis in Iraq.
Methods: The simple random sample method was adopted and applied to the population of the city of Baghdad, using a questionnaire form. The research community was represented by (200) respondents, while the sample size included (188) respondents. The researcher adopted the questionnaire form to obtain information that meets the research objectives.
Results: The research produces a number of outcomes, the most prominent of which is that governmental public relations play a role in crisis management, and that public relations represent the apparatus responsible for providing the public with verified information and authentic data by resorting to various means of communication.
Conclusions: The research reveals that government public relations play a vital role in crisis management by providing the public with truthful information and data through various means of communication.
