Departure from Orientalist Norms in Arminius Vambery’s Travels in Central Asia

الملخص

الأهداف: يعدّ أدب الرحلات حقلًا للدراسات النقدیة في مختلف المجالات وذلك بفضل کتاب الاستشراق الذي ألّفه إدوارد سعید ودرس فیه آثار الرحّالین الفرنسیین والبریطانیین المکتوبة في سیاق الإمبریالیة الغربیة في القرن التاسع عشر. یعتقد سعید في کتابه بأنَّ هؤلاء الرحالین في تلاقیهم بالبلدان الشرقیة وفي مشاهداتهم وتعلیقاتهم لم یکونوا محایدین، بل کانوا شرکاء لمشاریع امبریالیة غربیة. رغمَ أنَّ آراء سعید هذه مقنعة، إلا أنَّه لا یشیر في الاستشراق إلی أنّ الرحالین الغربیّین في تلاقیهم بالثقافة الشرقیة والسکان المحلیّین یمکنهم تحدّي تقالید الاستشراق. إذن، تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى قراءة الرحلات إلی الآُسیا المرکزیة لأرمينيـوس فمبيري لتسلیط الأضواء علی انزیاحات الرّحال عن معاییر الاستشراق الراسخة.

المنهجية: هذه الدراسة إنبنت علی آراء بهداد حیال الاستشراق؛ یؤکّد بهداد بأنَّ الاستشراق له خطابٌ حرکیٌّ ویتحلّی بالانفتاح والمرونة، فلهذا یتمکّن الرحالون من الانزیاح من معاییر الاستشراق.

النتائج: یستنتج الباحث بأنَّ انزیاحات فمبیري تتمثل في ثلاثة أشکال؛ الأول یکون في حین یکتب الرّحال عن رفیقیه الطریق الأفغانیّین اللذین کشفا هویته خلال الرحلة. والثاني یحدث حینما یمتنع فمبیري عن تصویر حرم الحاکم المحلي في ترکستان کمکانٍ للذة والمتعة. والثالث یقع حینما یقدّر الرّحال المطبخ المحلي بدلًأ من تجاهله کما کان شأن الرحالین في عصر فیکتوریا.

الخلاصة: من الخطأ الاعتقاد بأنَّ الرحالین في العصر الفیکتوري في رحلاتهم نحو الشرق الإسلامي إاَّبعوا المعاییر الاستشراقیة على نحو عشوائی بحت. بل –کما کشفت هذه الدراسة- في بعض الأحیان قد ینزاح الرّحال عن هذه المعاییر. لهذا یجب أن ینتبه الدارس في مجال أدب الرحلات إلی هذه المواضع المضادة للاستشراق حتی یتمکَّن من عرض قراءة دقیقة عن کتب الرحلات.
