يهدف البحث إلى بيان سبق السنة النبوية إلى العناية بالنفس الإنسانية، وذلك من خلال تقديم الرعاية للمريض، مبينة لهدي النبي )صلى الله عليه وسلم) في المسح على المريض، لحفظ صحة الإنسان وسلامته.. اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الاستقرائي و ذلك من خلال استقراء الأحاديث النبوية التي تبرز الهدي النبوي في موضوع المسح على المريض، وجمع أقوال الشراح، وتتبع المادة العلمية في مصادرها و المنهج التحليلي من خلال تحليل النصوص ذات العلاقة، وإلحاقها بما يناسبها من الموضوعات، وبيان ما ترشد إليه من تعاليم لفائدة الفرد والمجتمع و المنهج المقارن من خلال المقارنة بين الهدي النبوي في إرساء قواعد المسح على المريض، وما ثبت من حقائق في علم الطب الحديث. توصلت الدراسة الى النتائج التالية: أن ما ورد من تعريف لفظ المسح والمريض اصطلاحاً، لم يخرج عن اجتهادات وأقوال العلماء بل أن السنة النبوية غنية بالروايات المتعلقة بالمريض. و توصلت ايضا الى ان مجموع الروايات دلت على مشروعية وضع اليد وإمرارها على المريض، واستحباب الدعاء له بالشفاء والعافية، ورقيته ببعض السور والآيات، والدعوات الجامعات، فقد يشفي الله سبحانه وتعالى المريض ببركة الدعاء. توصي الدراسة الباحثين على إجراء المزيد من الدراسات المتعمقة حول المسح على المريض، من وجهة نظر إسلامية، والسعي إلى تأصيلها كعلم يعتمد عليه في الرعاية الطبية من خلال السنة النبوية.
