Objectives: This study aims to examine the impact of digital media on enhancing Arabic language learning among students enrolled in Arabic language courses at the Arab Open University in Jordan.
Methods: The study adopted a descriptive survey approach and included a randomly selected sample of 214 students enrolled in Arabic language courses at the Arab Open University in Jordan. Participants completed a validated questionnaire that was tested for reliability and validity.
Results: The results revealed that digital media significantly contributes to enhancing Arabic language learning across all examined areas, with varying mean scores for different aspects. The areas were ranked as follows: (1) the type of digital media content within the context of Arabic language education, (2) the perceived benefits of digital media, and (3) the source of digital media. Additionally, the findings indicated no statistically significant differences based on the duration of daily digital media use. However, significant differences were observed based on academic qualification, favoring students with a higher diploma in education and those with a bachelor's degree in journalism and media over those with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
Conclusions: The study recommends prioritizing the quality and sources of digital media content used in language learning, particularly by those responsible for designing educational materials in multimedia platforms, given its crucial role in enhancing Arabic language acquisition among university students.
