Abstract

Objectives: This study aimed to identify the role of intellectual security in promoting social cohesion among students at the Arab Open University in Jordan.

Methods: A descriptive approach was adopted, using a questionnaire consisting of 25 items distributed across five domains: intellectual perception and its indicators, moderate religious thought, national belonging and strengthening national unity, cultural and cognitive awareness, and social and psychological stability. The study sample included 350 male and female students from the Arab Open University in Jordan, randomly selected across different specializations.

Results: Statistical analysis revealed that students’ assessments of the role of intellectual security in promoting social cohesion were high across all domains. The results also indicated no statistically significant differences based on gender or college type.

Conclusions: The study concluded with several recommendations, most notably encouraging students to adhere to regulations, laws, and instructions, as these contribute to societal stability.
