Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to identify the challenges facing the clubs of the Jordanian professional league from the perspective of footballers during the Corona pandemic, considering the variables of the club, years of experience, and educational qualification.

Method: The descriptive survey method was employed due to its compatibility with the study’s nature and objectives. The study sample comprised all footballers from the Jordanian professional league, totaling 180 players from 12 clubs. The participants were intentionally selected from those registered in the records of the clubs of the Jordan Football Association for the season (2020-2021). Statistical methods, including Cronbach's alpha, frequencies, percentages, multiple variance analysis, and Pearson correlation coefficient, were utilized for data analysis.

Results: The results revealed that, from the players' perspective, the challenges facing the clubs of the Jordanian professional league during the Corona pandemic were rated as medium overall. Furthermore, statistically significant differences were observed based on the variable of years of experience, favoring those with less than five years of experience. Additionally, significant differences were found concerning the club variable, favoring Al-Ahly and Al-Sareeh clubs.

Conclusions: The researchers recommended the necessity of organizing specialized courses concerning the way the corona pandemic should be dealt with in cooperation with other clubs and universities in light of the consecutive challenges and difficulties that require more learning, rehabilitation, and training. The researchers recommend the organization of specialized courses to address the challenges posed by the corona pandemic, in collaboration with other clubs and universities. These courses would aim to enhance learning, rehabilitation, and training strategies in response to the consecutive challenges and difficulties experienced during the pandemic.
