Abstract

The book "Jerusalem, or on religious power and Judaism" published in English by Moses Mendelson, one of the most dangerous modern publications that discussed the Jewish enlightenment movement (Haskala) founded by the author, which led to World Zionism later. This research deals with the translation of a chapter of this book entitled "How to think about a foreign religion", a presentation and criticism, and illustrates the close connection between the Jewish Enlightenment movement and the atheism movements, and the danger of this movement, which was characterized by the separation of science from religion, and making secular culture the core value of human beings. The research hopes that this research to be a way to serve the nation of the Holy Quran to know the size of the threat of its enemy through reading books. The study found that Jews of all stripes, no matter how far apart their thoughts, are dominated in their behavior and actions by three elements: self-hatred, cowardice, fear and aggressive behavior. The study also found that Mendelssohn is considered a leading symbol of the Jewish Enlightenment movement and that the most important resource of Mendelssohn's culture is the Old Testament.
