MANAGING EDITORS The managing editor decides whether a submitted paper is scientifically sound, fits within the scope of the journal, and which section it should be submitted to. Following this preliminary review, the Managing Editor determines whether the manuscript should be sent out for review and a section editor assigned, or if it should be desk rejected by the Editor-in-Chief. Based on the reviewers' and section editor's recommendations, and after ensuring that all quality, validity, and ethical requirements have been met, the managing editor recommends the acceptance or rejection to the editor-in-chief.
