Abstract

Objectives: The study aims to develop units of study using the Klausmayer and Milrotenson models and test their effectiveness in developing linguistic concepts among seventh-grade female students in Jordan.

Methods: The sample of the study consisted of (56) seventh-grade female students in Jordan in two sections. They were distributed randomly and divided into two groups, namely a control group with (28) students and an experimental group with (28) students. The linguistic concepts test was used as the research tool to collect the data for the study. The highest score for the test was (40) and the lowest score was (0). The data were analyzed using arithmetic means and standard deviations, in addition to the analysis of variance associated with ANCOVA and MANCOVA.

Results: The results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students of the experimental group who were taught the developed study units using the Klausmayer and Miller-Tenson models (23.60± 0.881) and the students of the control group who were taught in the traditional way (22.83 ± 0.841).

Conclusions: The study units developed using the Klausmayer and Millerotson models are more effective than the traditional method in developing female students' linguistic concepts. Accordingly, the study recommends training teachers of the Arabic language to use the combined Klosemeyer and Miller-Tenson models in teaching the language branches of grammar, literature, and rhetoric.
