تأتي أهمية هذا البحث لكونه يتناول موضوع "الجرائم ضد الإنسانية المرتكبة في أثناء الثورات العربية"، الذي ما زال أحد أهم القضايا المعاصرة التي تؤرق المجتمع الدولي، فقد عانت وما تزال تعاني الشعوب العربية من الجرائم الشنيعة التي ارتكبت وما تزال ترتكب خلال الثورات العربية، حيث ما يزال المسؤولين عن ارتكاب مثل هذه الجرائم ينعمون بالحرية والحياة ويفلتون من العقاب والمسؤولية، رغم كل محاولات القضاء الجنائي الدولي لمحاسبتهم. اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج التحليلي وذلك بالاستعانة بالنصوص القانونية التي تثري الدراسة من خلال تحليلها، واستخدام المنهج المقارن لمقارنة هذه النصوص مع بعضها البعض والوصول إلى مدى فعالية هذه النصوص في محاسبة مرتكبي الجرائم ضد الإنسانية في أثناء الثورات العربية. توصلت الدراسة الى النتائج التالية: عدم اهتمام المجتمع الدولي سابقًا بالجرائم ضد الإنسانية و إن إنشاء المحاكم الدولية يشكل وقاية من الجرائم ضد الإنسانية ووسيلة لحفظ الأمن والسلم الدوليين كما أن المجتمع الدولي يتبني سياسية انتقائية في تطبيق قواعد الشرعية الدولية في مناهضة الجرائم ضد الإنسانية.
