Attitudes of Teachers of Science, Mathematics and Computer towards the Use of the STEM Approach in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in Teaching in Riyadh Educational Area

The aim of this study is to identify the attitudes of the teachers of science, mathematics and computer towards the use of STEM approach in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in teaching programs in Riyadh educational area. The study society is composed of all teachers of mathematics, science and computer of STEM - model in Riyadh educational area for the academic year 2018/2019. The sample of the study consisted of (38) male and female teachers from private schools in Riyadh educational area, who were chosen in a purposive way. A questionnaire that consisted of (32) items was distributed to the participants. The results of the study showed that there is a positive attitude in general towards the use of the STEM-oriented approach in teaching (STEM) with a mean of (3.49). The results showed that there was no statistically significant at the level of (α = 0.05) according to gender variable (t=0.82). The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) according to the variable of the subjects and for mathematic and science. (F = 22.02). The study recommended adopting a STEM- oriented approach in teaching.
