Abstract

This study aimed to find out the level of psychological happiness of the children of prisoners in the governorate of Karak and its relationship to social affiliation, and whether there are statistically significant differences in happiness due to variables (gender, educational level), and the study sample consisted of (53) members of prisoners' families. They were chosen randomly, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the psychological happiness scale that was originally prepared by Argyle and Hills and developed for the Jordanian environment (Abu Dhoeb, 2010), was used as well as the scale of social belonging that he prepared (Askar, 2008), and their validity and reliability were confirmed. The study showed that the level of happiness is low and the level of social affiliation was average among the children of prisoners, and it also indicated that there is a correlation between happiness and social belonging, and the results also indicated that there are no statistically significant differences in happiness and social belonging due to the variable of gender and educational level. Prisoners by competent authorities stressed the need to change the negative perception that society perceives them to raise their level of psychological happiness.
