Objectives: This study aims to analyze the call style in the Quranic verse: “O son of a mother, do not seize my beard or my head,” in order to explore the dimensions of the appropriate meaning of the significance of the call, and to arrive at a convincing interpretation of the call's significance in the verse, through the utilization of multiple contexts, relations, and indicators.
Methods: The research adopts an analytical descriptive approach, drawing from exegeses, recitations, grammar, rhetoric, and modern linguistic books. It employs the theory of modern context, which is capable of accurately connecting indicators that direct human discourse.
Results: The study reveals that the call in this Quranic verse is related to the purpose of lamentation (pain and grief), based on the understanding that the Quran is a cohesive text that should not be understood in isolation from the analysis of its contexts and relations. This understanding helps determine the linguistic phenomenon's significance and its alignment with the contextual framework in which it appears.
Conclusion: The study concludes that the state of the call in the Quranic verse is consistent with the governing contexts, as it does not deviate from the significance of lamentation (pain and grief). Therefore, the call harmonizes with the communicative function between the speaker and the addressees within the textual discourse.
