Abstract

Objectives: Shedding light on a grammar scholar in the seventh century AH. He had an educational grammatical system that he wanted to explain to students. He found that it was difficult for them to do so, so he changed it and wrote his explanation, “Al-Kafi fi Sharh Al-Hadi.”

Methods:This research has followed a descriptive and analytical approach based on tracking Zanjani’s grammatical opinions on accusative nouns in his book (Al-Kafi fi Sharh al-Hadi). Balancing them with the opinions of ancient and modern grammarians.

Results: That Al-Zanjani was not merely a transmitter of opinions or an imitator of the grammarians who preceded him. Rather, he added a lot of clarification and detail to grammatical issues, in an easy and accessible way. However, at some points he fell into contradiction. His goal, which he promised would be an easy educational explanation, as while presenting grammatical issues, he referred some of them to the circle of grammatical disagreement between the Basrans and the Kufans.

Conclusions: Al-Zanjani, in some places, fell into conflict, contrary to his purpose, which he promised that his explanation would be educational and easy, as during the presentation of grammatical issues, he referred some of them to the circle of grammatical disagreement between the Basrans and the Kufans, and there is no doubt that diving into the circle of grammatical disagreement takes him away from the educational approach that he planned for his book.
