Objectives: This study aims to investigate the extent of reliance among the Jordanian public on Facebook as a source of information regarding renewable energy systems, as well as to identify the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral effects associated with this reliance.
Methods: This research employs a descriptive design and utilizes a public survey methodology. The study sample consists of 400 individuals selected through purposive sampling from the three administrative regions of Jordan, all of whom engage with content related to renewable energy systems on Facebook.
Results: The results indicate that respondents who depend on Facebook for information about renewable energy systems to a moderate extent constituted the largest group, representing 47.7% of the sample. The primary motivation for this reliance was to "stay informed about renewable energy systems in Jordan." Furthermore, the predominant topics followed by respondents on Facebook concerning renewable energy included "offers from renewable energy companies for home installations in the Kingdom." The cognitive, emotional, and behavioral impacts associated with this reliance were also reported at a moderate level.
Conclusion: The study reveals a statistically significant positive correlation between the degree of reliance on Facebook for information about renewable energy systems and the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral impacts that arise from such reliance.
