يعد كتاب "القدس، أو السلطة الدينية والديانة اليهودية" المنشور باللغة الإنجليزية للكاتب موسى مندلسون، من أخطر المؤلفات في العصر الحديث التي تحدثت عن حركة التنوير اليهودي (الهسكالا) التي أسسها المؤلف، وأدت إلى الصهيونية العالمية في ما بعد. ويتناول هذا البحث ترجمة فصل من هذا الكتاب بعنوان" الإخلاص لدين موسى -عليه السلام-" عرض ونقد، ويوضح تلك الصلة الوطيدة بين حركة التنوير اليهودي وبين حركات الصهيونية العالمية، وخطورة هذه الحركة التي جعلت فكرة الهيكل المزعوم في القدس هي محورها. تقوم هذه الدراسة على ترجمة نصوص من كتاب"القدس، أو السلطة الدينية والديانة اليهودية"، ثم تحليلها وتفنيد الأفكار الخاطئة ونقدها مثل فكرة القانون الكنسي والهيكل المزعوم وغيرها، والرد عليها من كتب المصادر المعتمدة. توصلت الدراسة الى عدة نتائج و منها: يعد مندلسون رمزًا ورائدًا لحركة التنوير اليهودي التي تسمى بالعبرية "هسكالا". إن الناظر يجد أن من أهم موارد ثقافة مندلسون هو العهد القديم. نجد أن مندلسون يتبع المنهج الفلسفي المعقد في عرضه كثير من القضايا.
