Analytical Study of Jordanian Educational Administration Research Published in Educational Refereed Journals from (2005-2022)

Objectives: The study aimed to analyze Jordanian research production in educational administration published in some educational refereed journals from 2005-2022.
Methods: The study applied bibliometric methodology. The sample was obtained through the comprehensive inventory method. Two Arabic databases, namely "Shamaa" and "Dar Al Manduma," and four Arabic language educational refereed journals that have been continuously published between 2005-2022 and whose full-text articles are available, were searched and yielded 565 articles. Google Scholar Drive was used for English language studies and yielded 262 studies. By applying the inclusion-exclusion criteria, only 192 research studies were found adequate for analysis: 136 in Arabic language and 56 in English. Quantitative data on some indicators were obtained, coded, and entered into an Excel Spreadsheet and then tabulated.
Results: The results showed that the number of studies increased significantly from 12 studies in the years 2005-2010 to 121 between 2017-2022. Males outnumbered females as authors. The vast majority of researchers were academics. The dominant mode of authorship is co-authorship. The mostly used research methodology is the descriptive method. The dominating used instrument is the questionnaire. The majority of studies were written in Arabic and were published in Jordanian journals. The vast majority of research was done on public schools. The mechanics and technologies of administration were the mostly addressed subjects.
Conclusions: Research has gaps with male dominance, practitioner focus, and descriptive methods. Encourage female involvement in research and urge researchers to diversify methodologies.
