A Study of the Effectiveness of a Proposed Unit in Developing the Concepts of Preventive Education and Enhancing Attitudes among Tenth Grade Students during Risks and Crises in the Sultanate of Oman

Objectives: The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a proposed unit in developing the concepts of preventive education and enhancing attitudes among tenth grade students during risks and crises in the Sultanate of Oman.
Methods: The semi-experimental design was used, and the tools consisted of a cognitive test of the concepts of preventive education, a measure of attitude towards social work, and a measure of orientation towards the proposed study unit. Its validity and stability were verified, and it was applied to a sample of (30) female students from the tenth grade.
Results: The study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in the post-test of preventive education concepts, and there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in the trends of the tenth grade requests towards social service during risks and crises, and the trend towards the proposed study unit in favor of the post-application.
Conclusions: The study showed that the proposed unit had a significant impact on the development of preventive education concepts and students' attitudes towards social service, and in light of the results, the study recommends benefiting from the proposed content of the unit in promoting the concepts of preventive education among students and developing their positive attitudes towards social service.
