The Effect of Teaching Science Using Digital Storytelling in Developing Creative Thinking Skills among Third Graders in Jordan

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the effect of using digital stories in developing creative thinking skills among third-grade students during science teaching in Jordan.
Methods: The quasi-experimental approach was employed, and the study participants comprised 80 male and female students from the third grade at Al-Swefieh Secondary School for Girls, affiliated with the Wadi Al-Seer District Directorate. The control group, consisting of 40 male and female students, followed the traditional teaching method. A creative thinking test was utilized, and its validity and reliability were verified.
Results: The findings indicated statistically significant differences between the average scores of the two groups in post-performance creative thinking skills, favoring the experimental group due to the implementation of the digital story teaching method.
Conclusions: The incorporation of digital stories is recommended for teaching science and for conducting further studies involving different stages and variables. Additionally, the study recommended the need to conduct studies similar to the current one, which deals with comparing the impact of the digital story on thinking and technological innovations.
