Objectives: This study aims to determine the impact of utilizing traditional and visual feedback on learning some fundamental basketball game abilities as well as the effect of using visual feedback on learning some fundamental basketball game skills.
Methods: The researcher used the experimental method, and the sample of the study consisted of (38) students; of the Faculty of Sports Sciences who are enrolled in basketball course (1) during the summer semester for the academic year 2018/2019. The sample was randomly selected and distributed equally into two groups; the experimental group consisted of (19) male and female students and implemented visual feedback when teaching them basic skills in the basketball game, and the control group consisted of (19) male and female students and implemented traditional feedback when teaching them basic skills in the basketball game.
Results: The results showed that there were significant differences at the level of (0.05≥α) between the pre and post measurement for the experimental group and in favor of the post-measurement. Furthermore, there are statistically significant differences between the experimental group and the control group for the benefit of the experimental group. Additionally, the different types of feedback lead to an improvement in performance, which indicates its importance in the teaching and learning process, and that there is a preference for the use of visual feedback during the teaching process.
Conclusions: The researchers recommended a necessity to focus on using visual feedback, as it has a significant impact on learning difficult skills, especially with beginner learners.
