Kindergarten Teachers' Perceptions of Creative Child Characteristics According to Various Variables in the City of Jerusalem

Objectives: This study aimed to explore kindergarten teachers' perceptions of the characteristics of creative children in Jerusalem, considering various variables.
Methods: The study utilized a descriptive and qualitative analysis approach, randomly selecting 162 female kindergarten teachers from Jerusalem city. A questionnaire consisting of 67 items distributed across seven characteristics was used. The validity and reliability of the study tool were confirmed. Additionally, six teachers from the study sample were interviewed.
Results: The study revealed statistically significant differences in responses based on specialization and experience, favoring teachers with 5-10 years of experience. No statistically significant differences were found in teachers' perceptions of creative children's characteristics based on academic qualifications. Kindergarten teachers' perceptions of creativity were found to be associated with originality. The creativity of children was observed in various domains. The main challenge for creative children in Jerusalem was the lack of specialized programs to meet their needs.
Conclusions: The study recommends the development of specific programs in kindergartens that cater to the needs of creative children.
