طلبة العلاج الوظيفي في الدول العربية: الخصائص والتوجهات والرضى عن التخصص الأكاديمي

تعدّ مهنة العلاج الوظيفي جديدة نسبيا في العالم العربي. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى وصف خصائص ووجهات نظر ورضى 204 من طلبة العلاج الوظيفي في الأردن وفلسطين والمملكة العربية السعودية والكويت، واستُخدم استبيان صمم خصيصا لهذه الدراسة، وأظهرت النتائج أن أغلبية الطلاب أشاروا إلى أنهم اختاروا دراسة العلاج الوظيفي لأنها مهنة إنسانية، وأنهم سمعوا للمرة الأولى عن التخصص من أقاربهم وأصدقاءهم. كما أشاروا إلى أنهم يفضلون العمل في المستشفيات أو مراكز تأهيل الأطفال، وأنهم سيختارون دراسة العلاج الوظيفي لو عاد بهم الزمن، وأفاد معظمهم أنهم راضون عن تركيز المواد والواجبات الأكاديمية ومواقع التدريب الخارجية بينما كانوا أقل رضى عن توفر أدوات التدريب العملي وملائمة التدريب العملي والسريري وخطة البرنامج على نحو عام، وأكدوا أنهم راضون عن الجزء النظري التعليمي ولكنهم أقل رضى على نحو ملحوظ عن البنية التحتية للمنشآت التعليمية والتدريب السريري.وبهذا تكون هذه الدراسة قد قدمت بيانات أولية مفيدة لصناع القرار والأكاديميين حول الأهداف المهنية المطلوبة لطلبة العلاج الوظيفي ومستوى الرضى عن برامجهم التعليمية.
