This study aimed to identify the level of emotional management and the level of family adjustment among upper basic stage students in Amman. The study also aimed to identify the relationship between emotional management and family adjustment and to identify the effect of gender on both emotional management and family adjustment among sample members. The study sample consisted of (280) students randomly selected from the basic stage grades of schools in Amman. To achieve the objectives of the study, a descriptive analytical method was adopted. Additionally, two scales were developed and applied to measure emotional management and family adjustment after verifying their validity and stability. The results of the study showed that the level of emotional management, as well as the level of family adjustment, among students in the basic stage was at an average level. Furthermore, the results showed a statistically significant positive relationship between the level of emotional management and the level of family adjustment of students. On the other hand, the results showed no statistically significant differences due to the gender for both students’ level of emotional management and level of family adjustment.
