Objectives: This study assessed the level of of sports activity practice and its impact on physical and psychological aspects among visitors of fitness centers during the COVID-19 panedemic in Al-Balqa Governorate.
Methods: The researchers used a descriptive approach due to its relevance to the nature and objectives of the study. The study sample consisted of 222 participants from fitness centers in Al-Balqa Governorate. They were intentionally selected, representing 9% of the study population, and a questionnaire was used for data collection.
Results: The results showed that engaging in sports activities has a positive impact on physical and psychological aspects among fitness center visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Factors such as gender, academic level, marital status, infection with the Coronavirus, and practicing sports activities during home isolation did not affect the level of sports activity practice or its impact on physical and psychological aspects. However, residents of cities were more aware of the level of sports activity practice and its impact on physical and psychological aspects compared to residents of villages.
Conclusions: The researchers recommend the need to enhance the practice of sports activities during the COVID-19 pandemic and home quarantine to achieve health, physical, and psychological benefits. Additionally, there is a need to develop structured programs for regular sports activity practice to address emergencies such as home quarantine and closures during a pandemic.
