Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of recreational sports activities in youth centers in enhancing community security system from the point of view of workers in Amman Youth Directorate. The researcher used a descriptive approach. The study population consisted of (81) workers, and the sample consisted of (39) employees in the Capital Youth Directorate (31 male and eight female employees). The researcher used a questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The results of the study indicate that the assessment of the role of recreational sports activities in youth centers in strengthening community security system from the point of view of workers in the youth directorate of Amman was high. The results also showed that there were differences on the total score of the scale due to gender in favor of males and educational qualification in favor of high school. The results do not show differences due to years of experience, however. The researcher recommends enhancing programs for recreational sports activities within the programs of youth centers and increasing the budget of sports programs by the Jordanian Ministry of Youth.
