Abstract

Objectives: This study aims at investing in the similarity in poetic images between the letter of Abu Abdullah Al-Saghir, the last king of Andalusia, and the poem (Al-Burdah) Which is one of the most famous poems in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon him,   written by the famous poet Sheikh Al-Buseeri, so that we know the effect of Al-Burdah in Arabic literature, and to clarify the reciprocal relationship between the effect of the image on the cohesion of the text, and the effect of the context in showing the image. And comparing the image in its original text with the image in the new text to find out the amount of change.

Methods: The researcher used inductive, analytical, and comparative methods. The research was organized into three sections, the first specialized in introducing the message of Abu Abdullah Al-Saghir, and the second topic dealt with the intertextuality of poetic images and their implications at Al-Uqayli (the writer of the letter). The last topic was devoted to the methods of intertextuality at Al-Uqayli and came in three parts: to discuss the methods and structures, and to criticize Al-Uqayli message.

Results: The study showed that Abu Abdullah Al-Saghir's message relied a lot on the poem Al-Burdah, and concluded that this literary work was not creative and full of poetic necessities.

Conclusions: Teaching al-Burdah poems in an independent course in the departments of Arabic language, Reviewing and republishing this historical message, and explaining its meanings.
