Abstract

Objectives: This research addresses the theory of quantum physics and its narrative representations in the novel "Quantum" by Ahmed Abu Salim. The research aims to apply a precise micro-narrative reading of the novel’s structure (artistic, thematic, and semantic) through a critical practice that benefits from microscopic achievements in the field of physics.

Methods: The research method examines the core physical concept of the novel "Quantum," focusing on portraying the margin's revolution as represented by the atom. It employs a micro-narrative approach to dissect the narrative structure into its smallest elements, aiming to assess the quantum value and the interplay between artistic and thematic structures. The study evaluates the influence of quantum theory on these structures.

Results:. Ahmed Abu Salim attempted in the novel "Quantum" to find a new Arab-Palestinian epistemology that rises against all forms of defeat imposed by rational realism and the colonial materialism falsifying history, summed up in the new Zionist historicity aspiring to erase the existence of the Palestinian human and heritage. He achieved all of this by employing the theory of quantum physics in his novel.

Conclusions: In "Quantum," quantum concepts form the basis of its artistic, thematic, and semantic construction, integrating seamlessly with narrative elements like setting, time, and characters. These elements are represented akin to atoms composing the visible world, suggesting a narrative perspective grounded in physical reference. Effective critical practice involves assessing their quantum value through the impact each element has on others, rather than studying them separately.
