Objectives: This study aims to explore the effectiveness of employing innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution such as building an Arab freelancing platform in improving the quality of life for families with disabilities in light of some variables during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: The study was conducted on a sample of 100 families of individuals with disabilities divided into two groups: the first is an experimental group of 50 families, and the second a control group comprised of 50 families. To achieve the study objectives, the two researchers used the Quality of Life Scale that consists of 48 items that cover four quality of life domains: family and social life, psychological state, economic status (income), and public health.
Results: Both the post-test and follow-up test showed the effectiveness of the interactive freelancing platform for families with disabilities in terms of the following variables: monthly income, gender, and type of work. It also showed that there were no significant differences that can be attributed to the specialization variable.
Conclusions: The study recommends seriously considering the innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, providing various digital support resources for individuals with disabilities and their families, and designing and building microservice websites that would help recruit and support individuals with disabilities.
