الأهداف: يهدف هذا البحث إلى بيان الأسباب التي جعلت المستشرقين يقومون بتزوير ترجمات كتاب "ألف ليلة وليلة"، برسم صور نمطية سلبية للعرب والمسلمين، وتصويرهم بأنَّهم أُناسٌ بدائيون، يغلب عليهم التعصُّب وسفك الدماء، ويُقدِّسون المتع الجنسية والماديَّة، والعلاقات غير الطبيعيَّة. وأنَّ دينهم يُحرضُّهم على ذلك.
المنهجية: استند البحث على المنهج الوصفي؛ للوقوف على التزوير في الترجمات، وآراء الكتاب والمستشرقين وتحليلها؛ للوصول إلى الاستنتاجات.
النتائج: خلص البحث إلى عدة نتائج كان أهمها: أنَّ التزوير في ترجمات ألف ليلة وليلة كان الهدف منه تأكيد الصور النمطية السلبية التي تصورها الغرب قبل قرون لعدوهم القوي المخيف (المسلمين)؛ لهدف ديني وهو تنفير الغربيين من التعرُّف على الإسلام والدخول فيه، ولهدف سياسي وهو احتلال العرب والسيطرة عليهم وحكمهم. ولم يجنِ المستشرقون احترام الغرب أو الشرق على تزويرهم؛ لأنهم عملوا على إفساد الغرب الكاثوليكي والتسبب بتعذيب وقتل الملايين من المسلمين في الشرق.
الخلاصة: دعا البحث إلى الرجوع لأصل كتاب "ألف ليلة وليلة" والذي حققه محسن مهدي ونشرته منشورات بريل عام 1984، والذي يخلو من الإضافات والتزوير ونشره، وفضح الترجمات الغربية المزوَّرة. ودعا الدول العربية إلى الوحدة والأخذ بوسائل الحضارة حتى يتوقف الغرب عن استغلالهم والتحكم بهم.
