يتناول البحث موضوع الحياة الاجتماعية في الشوبك في العصرين الأيوبي والمملوكي الأول( 585-784هـ(1189_1382/ ؛ حيث تطرق الباحث إلى مكونات المجتمع في بلاد الشوبك والاسلوب الذي جرى اعتماده في حياتهم وعلاقاتهم الاجتماعية. اشتمل هذا البحث على مقدمة وأربع محاور مقسمة إلى ابواب متبوعة بخاتمة وقائمة للمصادر والمراجع الأولية وكذلك الثانوية. تناول المحور الأول طبقات المجتمع في الشوبك مع التعريف بطبيعة حياة كل طبقة وبيان مستواهم الاجتماعي ومدى الرفاهية التي اتسمت بها كل طبقة. اما المحور الثاني فقد شمل على الطوائف الدينية في الشوبك من مسلمين ونصارى ويهود مع بيان نسبة كل طائفة ومكان سكنها وشرح طبيعة العلاقة بين هذه الطوائف. تناول الباحث في المحور الثالث العادات والتقاليد لدى المجتمع في الشوبك من طعام وختان ودفن ولباس وغيرها. خصص الباحث المحور الرابع للحديث عن المرأة في الشوبك ومدى اهميتها وشرح دور المرأة في النزاعات الداخلية او الخارجية في العصر الايوبي والمملوكي الأول، كما جرى ذكر ابرز الألقاب التي حصلت عليها المرأة في الشوبك مع ذكر دلالة كل لقب.
