الأهداف: يهدف هذا البحث الموسوم بـ"سياسة السلطان مراد الثاني تجاه إيطاليا والبلقان (1421-1451)م"، إلى دراسة فترة من أهم فترات التاريخ العثماني في بلاد البلقان التي سبقت فتح القسطنطينية، والعلاقات الخارجية مع إيطاليا، فطالما مثلت البلقان وتحالفاتها مع الجمهوريات الإيطالية خطرًا كبيرًا على الدولة العثمانية، وعائقا مهمًا لفتح القسطنطينية. وجاءت الدراسة في أربعة محاور، هي:- أولًا: تعريف مختصر لسيرة السلطان مراد الثاني. ثانيا: العلاقات مع الجمهوريات الإيطالية. ثالثًا: تحالف المجر والصرب. رابعًا: فتح بلاد الأرناؤوط (ألبانيا).
المنهجية: اتبعت الدراسة المنهج التاريخي النقلي والتحليلي للأحداث ونقدها، كما اعتمدت الدراسة على المصادر العثمانية الأصيله وكذلك الدراسات التركية والأجنبية الحديثة، إضافة إلى الدراسات والأبحاث العربية والمترجمة، كما هي مرصوده في قائمة المصادر والمراجع.
النتائج: خلصت الدراسة الى مجموعة من النتائج، أهمها: إعادة إلبانيا الى حظيرة الدولة العثمانية، وتعزيز الاستقرار السياسي في البلقان.
الخلاصة: مهدت هذه العوامل والانتصارات الى فتح القسطنطينية على يد ولده السلطان محمد الفاتح عام 1953م.
