الأهداف: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تعزيز فهمنا للحاجات التدريبية لمعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية الأردنيين فيما يتعلق بتدريس نطق اللغة الإنجليزية والتحدث بها من وجهة نظر كل من المعلمين والمشرفين.
المنهجية: شارك في الدراسة ثلاثمائة واثنان وسبعون مدرسًا وستة مشرفين. أجاب المعلمون ن استبيان يعبّر عن آرائهم فيما يتعلق بحاجاتهم لبناء قدراتهم في تعليم نطق اللغة الإنجليزية، بينما شارك المشرفون في مقابلة لمناقشة وجهات نظرهم فيما يتعلق بتدريب المعلمين في هذا المجال. كما جرى تحليل البيانات النوعية والكمية للحصول على النتائج.
النتائج: وجدت الدراسة أن 74.8٪ من المعلمين المشاركين أشاروا إلى حاجتهم إلى تدريب أكثر تخصصًا حول كيفية تدريس نطق اللغة الإنجليزية،وهو ما أكده أيضًا المشرفون في المقابلات.
الخلاصة: يحتاج مدرسو اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية إلى بناء قدرات متخصص فيما يتعلق بتدريس نطق اللغة الإنجليزية والتحدث بها. يمكن للمشرفين استخدام نتائج هذا البحث لتسليط الضوء على الحاجة إلى برامج علاجية لكل من المعلمين والطلاب. كما يمكنهم أيضًا اقتراح خطة لتدريب المعلمين على استخدام التقنيات الجديدة التي تسهّل تدريس هذه المهارة
