الملخص

الأهداف: هدفت الدراسة إلى الوقوف على أهمّ الأزمات الاقتصادية التي عرفتها مكة المكرمة خلال العهد المملوكي، ومدى تأثير تلك الأزمات على المجتمع المكي لاسيما على الفئة الأضعف به وهي فئة العوام، كما هدفت إلى تحديد أهم أسباب وقوع هذه الأزمات، وأبرز جهود أمراء مكةَ وسلاطين المماليك في حلّ هذه الأزمات.

المنهجية: استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التاريخي المرتكز على جمع المادة التاريخية من مصادرها، ثم ترتيبها والتأليف بينها، ومن ثمَّ اعتمدت المنهج التحليلي لمعرفة أبرز أسباب هذه الأزمات وتحليل نتائجها.

النتائج: توصّلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج  المهمة؛ منها أن فرض المكوس المتنوعة والفادحة على أهالي مكة وتجارها كانت من أبرز أسباب الأزمات الاقتصادية بها، وهذه المكوس تدخل ضمن الأسباب البشرية. ومنها أن القحط والسيول والأوبئة وغيرها من الكوارث البيئية التي كانت من الأسباب الطبيعية التي عمّقت من أثر الأزمات الاقتصادية بمكة.

الخلاصة: إن الأزمات الاقتصادية التي شهدتها مكة خلال العصر المملوكي قد أثّرت على الفئة الأضعف من المكيين وهم العوام، وأن جهود أمراء مكة وسلاطين مصر قد خفّفت من سوء هذه الأزمات قدر الإمكان.
