Abstract

Objectives: This research aims to gather the well-established ten recitations and the four known irregular recitations mentioned above regarding the verse: "wa abadattaghut" from the depths of the books of recitations, interpretations, and language. Then, it seeks to clarify the meanings of these recitations through what has been mentioned about them, utilizing linguistic rules, in an attempt to reach a more accurate and deeper understanding of the intention behind the Quranic term and the implications it carries.

Methods: This research adopted an analytical approach by presenting the recitations of the verse "wa abadattaghut," which amount to forty-three recitations. These recitations are then elucidated, highlighting their illustrative and interpretive benefits.

Results: The study revealed that verb form recitations suggest renewal and occurrence, while noun forms indicate permanence. Singular recitations denote the kind, and broken plural forms imply abundance and generality. Derivative forms enrich semantics: active participles denote occurrence and actors, exaggeration forms impact meaning, and descriptive adjectives indicate permanence and stability. Structural increases enhance meaning, with letter doubling in verbs adding multiplicity, repetition, and exaggeration.

Conclusions: The research concluded that this large number of recitations has great importance in enriching the interpretive meaning, whether by expanding the meaning, confirming it, or adding new meanings through the various forms in the recitations, which in turn contribute to the semantic enrichment.
