الأهداف: تبرز هذه الدراسة فِرْقة الفُرْسان الدَّاويَّة فِي مَمْلَكة بَيْت اَلمقْدِس اللَّاتينيَّة وَبَيان دوْرهَا في حماية الحجاج اللاتين القادمين من الغرب الأروبي بالإضافة إلى معرفة دورها السِّياسيِّ والْعسْكريِّ فِي الممْلكة من خلال تتبّع الظُّروف اَلتي أحاطتْ بِنشْأتهَا ومراحل تَطوّرِها، ومعرفة ميثَاق تأْسيسهَا وتنظيمها العسكري إضافة إلى معرفة مواردهَا الماليَّة، ورصد محطات نجاحها وإخفاقها.
المنهجية: اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج التاريخي التحليلي القائم على دراسة الوثائق الخاصة بقوانين الداوية إضافة إلى المصادر المعاصرة والدراسات التاريخية المتصلة بالفِرْقة.
النتائج: خلٌصت الدراسة إلى أن فِرْقة الداوية ممثلة برؤسائها أدت دورًا مهمًا في المجامع الرسمية والبعثات السياسية في المملكة، كما برزت مشاركتها في المعارك اَلتِي خاضتْهَا مَمْلَكة بَيْت اَلمقْدِس ضِد المسْلمين وبشكلٍ خاص حروبها ضد صلاح الدين الذي تمكّن من تحرير بيت المقدس وإرجاعها تحت الحكم الإسلامي في سنة 583هـ/ 1187م.
الخلاصة: برزت فِرْقة الرهبان الداوية كفِرْقة عسكرية جمعت بين الرهبنة الدينية والمثل العليا للفروسية وقد أدتْ دورًا رئيسًا في حماية الحجاج اللاتين القادمين إلى بيت المقدس، وحظيت بالدعم السياسي والعسكري والاقتصادي من البابوية، وألّفتْ طبقة عسكرية إقطاعية شاركت في الأحداث السياسية والمجامع الرسمية في داخل المملكة اللاتينية.
