The Role of Educational Supervision in Activation of School - Local Community Relationship

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the role of educational supervisors in enhancing the relationship between schools and community during the second semester of the academic year 2017. The sample of the study consisted of 206 supervisors from school districts in the governorate of Irbid. To achieve the objectives of the study, a survey that included (39) items was designed for three areas: the school administration, teachers, and students, The results showed a primary role of educational supervision in the activation of school relationship with the local community. They also showed the lack of statistically significant differences between school administration and teachers due to the qualification variable. Supervisory experience and training courses did not differ on the supervisory experience variable, among other results. The study recommended strengthening the concept of community for school supervisors.
