Perception of Teachers of Islamic Education Course of their Roles in Developing Religious Awareness and Instilling Values among Secondary School Students in the State of Kuwait

Abstract

Objectives: The research aims to study the perception of teachers of Islamic education of their roles in developing religious awareness and instilling values among secondary school students in the State of Kuwait. The study sample consisted of (179) female teachers.

Methods: The study followed a descriptive survey method. The researcher prepared a questionnaire of (31) paragraphs, distributed in (15) paragraphs for the domain of developing religious awareness, and (16) paragraphs for the domain of instilling values.

Results: The results of the study showed that the perception of Islamic education teachers in the State of Kuwait of their roles in developing religious awareness and instilling values among secondary school students was strong. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the perception of Islamic education teachers in the State of Kuwait of their roles in developing religious beliefs among secondary school students due to the variables of academic qualification and teaching experience.

Conclusions: The study recommended the necessity of holding public seminars and lectures about the importance of religious motives and values, with the participation of local community institutions and legal personalities away from political factionalism.
