Intersectionality in Terry McMillan’s Mama: A Critical Analysis

الملخص

الأهداف: تهدف الدراسة إلى تقديم قراءة دقيقة لرواية "ماما" للكاتبة تيري ماكميلان وذلك لتسليط الضوء على مخاطر ظاهرة التقاطعية. كما تهدف إلى تحليل مكونات الهوية المتنوعة التي تسبب معاناة النساء ذوات البشرة الداكنة.

المنهجية: يعتمد هذا البحث على قراءة تحليلية دقيقة لرواية "ماما" للكاتبة تيري ماكميلان كدراسة حالة.

النتائج: تثبت الدراسة أن للتقاطعية العديد من الآثار الخطيرة على الأسر والمجتمعات كالعنف المنزلي والبطالة بين النساء وحرمان المرأة من حقوقها الاجتماعية والسياسية. وبناءً عليه، فإن مكونات الهوية المتنوعة كالجنس والسلالة والعرق والمستوى الاجتماعي والتعليمي، تشكل السبب الرئيس لمعاناة النساء. لذلك يجب التخلص من التقاطعية التي تمنع النساء من التمتع بحقوقهن الإنسانية.

الخلاصة: تخلص الدراسة إلى أن التقاطعية تؤذي النساء بشدة ولها آثار دائمة على عائلاتهن وعلى المجتمع. وبذلك توصي الدراسة بأن التسلح بقوة الإرادة والثقة بالنفس والتكافل والتنوير بالعلم يعد من أهم الوسائل لقهر التقاطعية ولتحسين المستويات الاجتماعية والمالية للنساء الضحايا.
