الأهداف: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة الأبعاد الفنية في الأغراض الشعرية عند أبي بكر أحمد الستالي، وكذلك تسليط الضوء على روافد الصورة المعتمدة على المخزون الفكري لدى الشاعر التي استنبط من خلالها صوره.
المنهجية: اعتمدت على المنهج الفني في رصد النصوص الشعرية المستمدة من شعر الستالي وتحليلها؛ لمعرفة مواطن الجمال والإبداع طبقًا لمتطلبات البحث.
النتائج: إنّ شعر الستالي يحمل بين طياته كمًا هائلًا من الصدق في أكثر المواضيع التي عنى الشاعر بتصويرها ولاسيما المواضيع التي تخصّ غربته؛ نتيجة انتقاله من مسقط رأسه إلى مكان آخر، وتبيّن أيضًا أنّ حضور الطبيعة في شعره امتزاج بالحب والهدوء والسكينة تارةً، وبالرهبة والقوة تارةً أخرى فأثبت مقدرته الفنية في صياغة صورته الشعريّة
الخلاصة : إنّ شعره نابع من نبض إحساسه في تصوير واقعه، ولم يختلف الستالي عن الشعراء السابقين في استخدامه للصور في أغراضه الشعريّة، وإنّما الذي ميّزه هو طريقته في تشكيل مفرداته التي أثاّرت خيال القارئ وقد اعتمد في استقصاء صوره الشعرية على أركان مهمة منها: القرآن الكريم والموروث الشعري والتاريخي، وكذلك صور الطبيعة بكلّ مفرداتها إذ وجدها متنفسًا واسعًا لبث وجدانه وتأملاته.
