Objectives: This study explores the role of Sharia colleges in serving the local community according to the quality standards followed in universities. It highlights the current role of these colleges, their anticipated future contributions, and the challenges that hinder their effectiveness.
Methods: The study employed a descriptive approach to outline the role of Sharia colleges in serving the local community based on quality standards. Additionally, an analytical method was used to assess differences in opinions regarding the level of service provided. A questionnaire consisting of 26 items was developed, divided into two main areas: (1) the role of Sharia colleges in promoting religious and ethical values and fostering cooperation with local and international institutions, and (2) the challenges faced by these colleges in serving the community. The validity and reliability of the tool were tested, and it was administered to a sample of 405 individuals, representing 15% of the study population.
Results: The findings revealed no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) regarding the role of Sharia colleges in promoting religious and ethical values and their cooperation with local and international institutions, based on gender, field of work, or their interaction. Similarly, no statistically significant differences were found in the challenges faced by Sharia colleges in serving the community, based on these variables.
Conclusions: The study emphasizes that the application and continuous development of quality standards are essential to achieving meaningful and comprehensive community service. It also provides recommendations for enhancing these efforts.
