Abstract

Objectives: The study aimed to investigate the relationship between academic entitlement and academic self-efficacy considering the variables of gender, academic level, and the nature of the profession.

Methods: The study sample comprised 264 male and female students from the master's and doctoral levels at the Faculty of Education, Yarmouk University. Two scales were used: The Academic Entitlement Scale developed by Aldabe (2020) and the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale by Alhosban & Alrabee.

Results: The study revealed a high level of academic entitlement among the sample members. Additionally, statistically significant differences were found in the average scores on the academic entitlement scale based on gender, favoring males. However, no differences were observed based on academic level or the nature of the profession. Moreover, the study showed a high level of self-efficacy among the sample members, with no differences based on gender, academic level, or the nature of the profession.

Conclusions: The study offers several recommendations, the most important of which include designing counseling programs to address the issue of high academic entitlement
