Abstract

Objectives: This research aims to study the evidence of the effectiveness of objects in the book “Hama Al-Hawa’I” between the perspective and non-standard approaches in light of usage preference. Moreover, it explores the interpretations and explanations of certain linguistic expressions that defy the standard grammatical rules, referred to by Jean-Jacques Lucerkel as (remaining).

Methods: The research adopts a descriptive and analytical approach to examine objects, whether in poetic or prose examples and linguistic expressions that deviate from the standard grammatical rules presented in "Hama Al-Hawa" and analyzed and interpreted by scholars. The possibility of categorizing them under "the remaining" is also explored.

Results: These linguistic expressions, whether found in the examples of objects or other deviations that violate the condition of prescriptiveness but are still acceptable in usage, can be classified under the concept of “the remaining.” All the investigated linguistic expressions possess an acceptable level of usage as they stem from the language itself during a specific period determined by scholars, thus making them valid and acceptable but not normative.

Conclusions: Preference does not imply comparing one structure to another to determine which is superior. Rather, it signifies that a structure fulfills both the criteria of prescriptiveness and usage, aligning with the grammatical rule and not violating any conditions. Consequently, linguistic expressions that emerge from the language itself during the subconscious period of formation are considered valid because the language scholar is not bound by a rule but rather describes their thoughts and translate them into a language that reflects their intended meaning.
