The Effect of the Criterion “not in the words of the Arabs” on the Structures of the Nouns: Manfa'eel, Fi'weel, and Fu'la'

Objectives: The study aims to ascertain the integrity of the criterion (not in the words of the Arabs) in extracting the two structures (manfa'eel, fi'weel) from the structures of the Arabic nouns, limiting the construction of (fu'la') to specific examples, and verifying the extent to which this criterion matches the linguistic reality away from the interpretation required by it. Imposing this criterion in an attempt to limit the structures of nouns in Arabic.
Methods: The study followed the descriptive-analytical approach, as it was showing some of the noun structures that some Arabic scholars decided that they are not in the speech of the Arabs due to the lack of examples of them or their absence, depending on the linguistic reality.
Results: This study revealed the existence of some imbalances in what resulted from this standard of judgments related to the structures of the nouns under study, and that the proofs presented by the grammarians supported their opinion in extracting these structures from the speech of the Arabs or limiting them to specific examples that can be contradicted and rebutted in one way. The study also concluded that the attempt of the ancient grammarians to compel the non-Arab when Arabizing the common in Arabic weights made them reject some of the weights in it.
Recommendations: The “not in the words of the Arabs” criterion needs to be reconsidered, its accuracy verified, and the results based on it verified at the phonetic, morphological and grammatical levels.
