Objectives: The study delved into the phenomenon of alienation and its impact on the poet Amr Ben Al-Ahtam. The study aimed to elucidate the poet's coping strategy with his alienation from linguistic realms, leading to an interpretative journey. It also aimed to trace the nuances and unveil the underlying implications of his poems, particularly in poems such as "Didn’t Asma come at evetide and she is a nocturnal comer," while also investigating linguistic contextual references and symbolic imagery in shaping meaning and uncovering implicit connotations within the text.
Methodology: To achieve its objectives, the study employed an analytical-descriptive approach coupled with interpretive readings of the poem. It comprised two main axes: the first axis focused on linguistic concepts, terminology, and elucidations necessary for interpretive reading, while the second axis delved into interpretive readings grounded in the language of poetic discourse, shedding light on the poet's experiences and fluctuations within his artistic output.
Results: The study revealed manifestations of ethical and moral deviation within the societal framework, juxtaposed with the poet's embodiment of noble values following his conversion to Islam.
Conclusion: It was concluded that the fluidity and disarray evident in the composition of the text unveiled a structural system through which the poet depicted his societal experience, leading to a sense of alienation. However, the poet did not succumb to this alienation; instead, through poetic language, he asserted his self-efficacy in triumphing over it.
