An Analytic Study of the Effectiveness of Employing Artificial Intelligence in Jordanian News Channels: “Al-Mamlaka” as a Model

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of employing artificial intelligence technologies in Jordanian news channels, revealing the important role of these technologies in restructuring news channels and improving their performance. The study uses Al-Mamlaka news channel as a model which employs artificial intelligence to enhance its content.
Methodology: Data was collected by analyzing the content of Al-Mamlaka in the period between 1 to 31 December, 2023.
Results: The results of the study reveal that Al-Mamlaka’s studio announcements that cover political topics rank first in employing artificial intelligence applications. Moreover, the study shows that artificial intelligence technologies are frequently used in montage and content design.
Conclusion: The study recommends spreading the culture of artificial intelligence in Jordanian news channels, as it could be variously used for producing and presenting news. Moreover, it calls for training the employees who work for Jordanian news channels in order to develop their skills in using artificial intelligence technologies.
