Objectives: The study aimed to explore the implications of digital transformation on professional practice, the content of journalistic material, and the quality of information provided by journalists in Jordanian daily newspapers.
Methods: This study is descriptive in nature, relying on a survey method of practice styles applied to an equal purposive sample of (250) journalists working in newspapers such as Al-Rai, Al-Dustour, Al-Ghad, Al-Umm, and Sada Al-Shaab.
Results: The majority of journalists (54.8%) use applications and technological devices in their journalistic work to a moderate extent. "The newspaper's website" was the most commonly used application by journalists. The use of "text editing and processing" ranked highest among the areas of employing digital media technology in journalistic work. The most significant impacts of digital transformation on professional practice in Jordanian daily newspapers were observed in "the focus on multimedia journalistic production." The most prominent impacts on the content of journalistic material were in "resorting to concise and rapid writing." Regarding the quality of information provided by journalists, the most significant impact was in "providing a large amount of data and information for future use."
Conclusion: There is a positive relationship between the degree of use of digital media technology by journalists in Jordanian newspapers and the implications of digital transformation on their performance. The impacts of digital transformation on professional practice, the content of journalistic material, and the quality of information provided by those newspapers have increased.
